We arrived to a hostile and frosty reception-to the point that I said I'd be happy to get a refund and leave to be told 'bad luck you've paid'! After finally getting the key and asking for restaurant suggestions (the restaurant at the 'resort' is closed - looks like it has been for a long time) we were greeted by a room overlooking a drain, that was far from clean. (We kept socks on as the carpet was filthy) We agreed that we only have to stay the night and leave the next day so we stayed.I Have photos as proof of all mentioned above. This is a very tired place, and despite the $$ value, we have stayed at much cleaner and friendlier places for the same or less $$ ... couldn't wait to leave in the morning.
Ordinary accom very basic near hiway some noise would not stay there again
Shower was awful iron leaked water everywhere hiway noise
Location was great although you would want to make sure you have a car if you are going to the city. Management was fantastic and very helpful, even going so far as to post back an item we had forgotten in the hotel. Really couldn't have asked for better.
It was a little cold in the place but we did visit in the winter.
Privacy. Also friendly understanding staff/owners
The layout of the resort was really good with plenty for the kids to do. The location was quiet yet close enough to everything that you required.
Comfortable and affordable wonderful customer service
Just passing though town had a great unwind at the pools followed by a lovely dinner on the deck of the restaurant. It was great not to have to go into town for a meal. Had a quiet nights sleep in a comfortable bed and we were ready to continue our travels.
I loved the views of the mountains it reminded us of when we were in thailand it was like you were in another country.
The one thing we didnt like was the mattresses the were very uncomfortable we came home and I had to take my son to a chiropractor
Privacy, setting, facilities... Amazing experience will be back again!! Highly recommend the two bedroom bungalows. Close beach and a short drive tourist attractions such as The Big Banana and the Pet Porpoise Pool.
the accomodation was a nice size for four people very comfortable we all enjoyed our stay
the car parking was a little difficult getting an elderly person in and out of the car was a struggle but the view was worth the effort a little short on some basics example hair dryer
The ceaseless traffic noise from the highway - very noisy trucks.
Having our own private bungalow.
There were several things that we did not like. 1) We were in bungalow 17 which was right at the top of the resort up a narrow steep path which was suitable for only one car at a time. We would have to use the car to go to the pool & laundry which was located towards the bottom of the resort. 2) Car parking was awkward as we did not have our own space and parked in the turnaround. 3) Because of where we were we could not get any wi-fi which makes for a total nonsense of the resort advertising free wi-fi. The reception was going to make the aerial higher but if this happened it did not work. There is too much vegetation and we were too far away from reception. It is not suitable for disabled people and anyone wanting peace and quiet as we were disturbed at 5.30am every morning by very noisy birds in the trees.
great rooms, good price, and the hot tub was nice and hot
aircon in room did not work
Excellent self catering facilities. Clean and spacious cabins. Helpful and kind staff who upgraded our cabin when we asked to stay for two nights instead of our prebooked single night. Very child friendly.
Nothing, but it's a fair way out of town ( 3 or 4 km north on pacific highway) if you don't have a car.
We stayed in a little one bedroom cabin, it was very clean and nice. Nice balcony with a good atmosphere. Very modern and practical.
